McKay Helps the Mathew Turner Vessel Set Sail in San Francisco!
October 16, 2020
The Matthew Turner is an educational Tall Ship based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The impressive vessel is truly spectacular and will be used to engage children in marine environmental education.
After many hours of volunteering, hard work and collaboration, the impressive 132′ wooden vessel will soon be setting sail.
McKay was involved in the design and implementation of the alarm and monitoring systems for the vessel’s regenerative hybrid propulsion system. The system integrates with the hybrid propulsion to display the current status of the propulsion system. McKay also monitors bilge level, watertight doors and the fire alarm status for this vessel.
McKay can remotely monitor the hybrid propulsion system, thus enabling us to provide updates if the client wishes to add on board equipment or change any graphics on the HMI’s. This installation is the 3rd of it’s kind that McKay have provided for our USA hybrid propulsion customers and was programmed by Robert Gu with the assistance and guidance of Tony Mitchell.
McKay are proud to have been involved in such a great educational project and wish the Matthew Turner and its team all the best in educating San Francisco’s young people!
